'Peck measure' in the Bible

People do not light a lamp and put it under a peck-measure; they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house.

"Do people get out the lamp," he said to them, "and then put it under the peck-measure, or under the bed, instead of putting it up where it belongs?

No one lights a lamp and puts it in the cellar or under a peck measure; he puts it on its stand, so that people who come in can see the light.
